So anyway, a friend gave me a 14″ bandsaw that had a problem getting started. After turning on the switch, the motor just hummed and wouldn’t get up to speed. You had to physically spin the top wheel of the bandsaw to get it going not the safest method.
I pulled the motor out and saw that the motor start capacitor had leaked the guy that gave me the saw suspected this was the problem.
If you purchase and hook-up the hard start capacitor and the compressor still will not start then I am afraid you will need a new compressor or system. I say, “System” instead of just outdoor unit because it is recommended that you change both the outdoor unit and the .

Are you assuming that you can remove 1uC of charge from one plate, but not removing any charge from the other? That may be OK for physics homework where capacitors are two metal spheres at great distance.
But in electronics, capacitors are relatively huge plates, spaced microscopically apart. An electrical engineer’s capacitor isn’t like two separate metal spheres.

Pick up a foot roll of 12 awg copper wire and strip it with a sharp blade by tying off one end and walking down the line while holding the blade at the appropriate angle to efficiently remove the insulation at a decent pace.
